A Note To July

I’ve been making an effort to ‘notice’ more this month. The small things, the changing things in the everyday, which we so often just walk past without a second glance, not really seeing, our minds too busy, too rushed.

Even though this July has felt more wet than summery it still holds a lot of natural beauty. It’s the month where small seasonal changes begin. Nods to late summer can be seen all around. Teasels and honesty are green but the haws and elderberries are slowly developing colour and the blackberries are starting to form.

My favourite finds are bursts of lavender and cosmos in local gardens and you can’t beat the joy of walking near a blooming budleia with its sweet honey scent.
