When Flower & White asked if I’d help them create some bright and fun recipes using their incredible meringues I jumped at the chance! Not only are these little bites ever so tasty they are really versatile when it comes to home baking and adding that extra touch of magic!
We came up with the plan of creating a freakshake recipe - these monsters of the milkshake world are taking the internet by storm and it’s kind of obvious why!
This recipe is incredibly easy to make and the kids will love getting involved by adding all the toppings they can dream of. In this recipe I’ve used a selection of meringue drops, bites and a giant crushed meringue. Drizzled liberally over the top is a silky smooth salted caramel sauce but you can also use melted chocolate if you prefer.

- prep time: 15 minutes
Servings: 2
Ingredients:
- 35g butter
- 25g golden syrup
- 40g soft light brown sugar
- 50ml double cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 100g dark chocolate
- 600ml milk
- 8 scoops of your favourite chocolate ice cream
- 1 Flower & White - Giant Chocolate Meringue
- 1 can of whipped cream
- 6 Flower & White - Salted Caramel Bites
- 6 Flower & White - Chocolate Drops
Instructions:
- For this recipe you’ll need two Mason jars or tall glasses and some paper straws
- Begin making the salted caramel sauce by adding the butter, golden syrup, soft light brown sugar, double cream and salt to a saucepan and gently heat whilst stirring
- Remove from the heat once the caramel starts to simmer and set aside to cool slightly (please be careful as hot caramel can easily scald!)
- Break the chocolate into small chunks and melt in the microwave in 20 second bursts, stirring until fully melted
- Crush the giant meringue into small pieces
- Spoon the salted caramel sauce and melted chocolate into each Mason jar, ensuring it runs down the insides
- Spread some melted chocolate around the rim of each jar and add the crushed meringue pieces
- Place the jars in the refrigerator to chill and allow the chocolate to harden
- Add the milk and 6 of the ice cream scoops to a blender and pulse until fully combined
- Pour the milkshake into each jar and then place one large ice cream scoop onto the top of the mix. This will act as the base for your toppings
- Squirt a layer of whipped cream onto the ice cream and then place 3 salted caramel bites on top
- Add more whipped cream, creating a conical shape on top of the jars
- Place 3 chocolate meringue bites into the cream and crumble over some of the remaining crushed meringue
- Drizzle liberally in salted caramel sauce
- Insert straws into each shake and enjoy immediately!
